The Hunter Manufacturing Awards Inc. (HMA) is beginning the 2021 year with a positive and enthusiastic energy and is eager to put into action their full Strategic Plan with many actions put on hold in 2020 as a consequence of the COVID 19 pandemic.
HMA Chair, Steven Smith, welcomed three new directors to the Board at their 17th February board meeting. Kristy Hedley, Managing Director of the Hedweld Group of Companies, Mt Thorley. Kristy brings a wealth of experience to the Board having worked in her family-owned company since 2007. Brett Allan is the General Manager – Supply Chain at Molycop and is accountable for the overall management of all Logistics, Purchasing and Supply Chain activities across the Australian Moly-Cop business. Frank Sammut is the Executive Director Central Coast Industry Connect. With the Central Coast and Upper Hunter areas being important areas that fall within the Hunter manufacturing region, the HMA board is looking forward to having its new directors share their knowledge and insights into the companies in the area, and support those local manufacturing businesses to use HMA as a platform to profile and promote their operations.
The Launch of the 2021 awards program will be held on 5 May on the premises of the 2019 Manufacturer of the Year – Chamberlain Group, to align with activities as part of the Hunter Innovation Festival.
HMA is happy to be returning to the full gala event on 15 October, with 13 reinvigorated categories open for application for the awards from launch day of 5 May. Sponsorships are currently being secured for each of the categories and will be announced at the 2021 Launch.
