HMA appoints 2 new Board Directors


Hunter Manufacturing Awards Inc. (HMA) has appointed Steven Smith to its Board of Directors.  Steven is the Managing Director of Advitech and has had over 30 years’ experience in engineering and project management, including technical and business roles.  Steven has been actively involved in the support of engineering based manufacturing in the Hunter Region through his involvement with HunterNet,  as both Director and as Chairman.   Steven has also been involved with the University of Newcastle as a member of the Course Advisory Committee for the School of Mechanical Engineering and the University of Newcastle Industry Scholarship Scheme (UNISS) Advisory Committee.

Graeme Vennell, CEO of Custom Fluidpower  also joined the board of HMA on April 20.  Graeme is a strategic and engaging senior executive with extensive experience in the Hydraulics and Lubrication sectors, has a passion for the local mining and industrial segments in Newcastle and Hunter Valley regions of NSW and also experience extending nationally within the fluid power industry.  Graeme has had vast experience in business sustainability throughout challenging economic environments, mergers and acquisitions of like businesses in strategic locations, consolidation & growth through implementation of business plans as well as the project management of company restructures, implementation of new business operating systems and nurturing of key vendor and customer relationships.
