When do registrations open and close?
Registrations open on 4th May and close on 19th August.
When do applications open and close?
Applications open on 4th May and close on 19th August.
What is the difference between a registration and an application?
A registration is your intent to apply (and takes 5 minutes), whilst the application is your full award submission and will take much longer to address the questions
Does it cost to enter the awards?
There is no cost attached to registration or applying for a Hunter Manufacturing Awards. Should you wish to attend the awards presentation evening, you will need to purchase tickets.
Can I have an extension?
If you need to request an extension please email our Admin Manager, Carol McEwan, on info@hma.org.au – there is no guarantee that we will be able approve the request
Can I register and apply for more than one category?
Yes absolutely, we would encourage all businesses to look at all 14 categories and apply for as many as you think you are a fit for.
What does it mean ‘limit to 200 words”? Does that mean the whole submission can only be 200 words or is that for each question?
This word limit is for each individual section (or question) of the application.
What happens if I cannot do it in 200 words?
You can provide accompanying documentation to the application where you are unable to complete a question in 200 words. This could include a photo, design document, brochure, a relevant capability statement to the application, etc.
My accompanying documentation is larger than the recommended size of 20MB, is there another way to submit this?
We would encourage you to use a compressing tool to decrease the size of the attachment. If this is not sufficient, please include a link to a Sharepoint, Dropbox or equivalent file sharing platform.
Can I save my online application?
Yes, you can, at the bottom of the application form on our website there is a SAVE button. When you click that you will be provided a link to use when you wish to continue the online submission form. You can request for that link to be emailed to you. We would also recommend that you work on your submission via the guide document (see question below about the guide document).
I started my submission and pressed the SAVE / CONTINUE LATER button and now I cannot find my submission.
If this occurs, please email our Admin Manager, Carol McEwan, on info@hma.org.au
What is the guide document for?
The guide document is a fantastic resource to assist you in your application. We suggest that you download the Word Document guide and use it to complete the draft application, and then copy your final answers into the online application document.
How will I know if I am a finalist?
You will be contacted by our Admin Manager in September if you are a finalist.
Who decides on the finalists and winners?
We have assigned an independent panel of judges to each individual award category, and they are responsible for determining the finalists and winners. These judges are separate to the HMA Board and are specialist/experts in their field.
What if I can’t make the award night?
If you are unable to make the award night, we would encourage you to work with your team and have another member of the business attend the award.
Who do I contact if I have questions?
Please email our Admin Manager, Carol McEwan, on info@hma.org.au
