Please read following description pertaining to this category

A key element in the future of the Region’s manufacturing sector will be the calibre of the leaders that we are developing in our businesses today.

HMA want to recognise these very important emerging leaders and have established the Rising Star Award to provide this recognition.

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic young men and women who are committed to the manufacturing sector, hungry to learn every day and consistently making a positive contribution to their businesses.

These rising stars are quick to seize an opportunity and equally quick to find the courage to take responsibility for their actions.

They work well on project teams, are confident in their ability, but are keen to listen to and respect the views of others.

They get their own tasks done to a high standard and encourage others to follow.

Candidates for this special award enjoy tackling difficult challenges and are resilient in the face of set backs, showing great resolve under pressure.

Our winner will have demonstrated the capacity to consistently create positive outcomes for their business in areas such as safety, innovation and productivity.

Through all these achievements they will have convinced their employer, and the HMA Board that they possess outstanding long term leadership potential in the manufacturing sector.

The judges will look for examples of personal achievement by the nominee that include but are not limited to innovation, outstanding personal contribution or result achieved, completed tasks with quality results, improvement in safety, productivity or profitability directly attributable to the activities of the nominated individual.

Whilst we acknowledge the importance of fostering and supporting leadership development at all levels and ages in a smart business, this award is specifically looking to identify and recognise the outstanding young leaders in the manufacturing sector.  Leaders in the early stages of development who are showing great potential for the future.  These young men and women will be the key to our future.
